I did something new today and I’m pretty excited about it. I engraved a stainless steel tumbler! I used the rotary attachment for the first time. I’ve had the attachment for 3 years and I just now opened the box. I was a little intimidated by it, but I pressed on and now I’m a stainless steel engraving ninja!
The process starts with CerMark marking liquid. I mixed it at a 2:! ratio with denatured alcohol and applied it with a foam brush.
When the laser hits the CerMark it creates a chemical reaction that binds it to the metal. So into the rotary attachment it goes…
These cups take 5:10 each, which isn’t too bad. I set my power at 90% and speed at 300.
After lasering, I simply washed the excess CerMark away… and voila!
