My brother in law does obedience training and testing with his German shepherd. Zelda has earned a few ribbons by this point and Jeremy needed somewhere to put them. He asked if I can make a cork board. Hmmm… I’ve never cut cork, but I know my machine can. Let’s give it a try!
I ordered 24″x 36″ sheets of cork underlayment from Home Depot and did a test cut. I had to use high power and low speed on the laser to get through the 1/4″ cork. It’s prone to flare ups, but it works! I decided to add a single-wall layer of cardboard as a backing because a push pin will go all the way through the cork.

The small Zelda was my test cut. The large Zelda measures 22″h x 28″w. When Jeremy posted a picture of the cork board on Instagram, one of his followers contacted me about making a Belgian Sheepdog cork board.
